About Us

Two Trees Caring Home

Established in 1978 by Roger and June Gliddon and now run by June and their daughter Paula Pillage, Two Trees Caring Home is one of the longest estabilished homes within Plymouth and has always been a family home. Two Trees Caring Home is registered to support up to 28 people with a learning/physical disability. With 44 members of staff, they are also trained to support those requiring peg feeding and those with Dementia.

Two Trees is housed over three large houses that interlink allowing easy access to each floor including the use of a passenger lift and stair lift. We have 28 bedrooms many of which are ensuite with bath/shower rooms, some have hoist facilities either ceiling or mobile hoists. All bedrooms are individually decorated to the residents requirements. We also have a large garden area which is wheelchair accessible which residents and family/visitors have access to at all times. Two Trees also has two minibuses which can be made available should residents choose this option, both mini buses are wheelchair accessible.

Two Trees is only one mile from the city centre and is accessible via regular public transport. We are a short walking distance from the local shopping village and a large park area which is now home to the Plymouth Life Centre. The local pub is also a very short distance away offering food and beverages.

Vision statement - everything we do is:

"Two Trees" is in a very central position with a shopping village only minutes walking distance, where residents can shop for all their daily needs.  We are only one mile from the city centre and nearby there is the "Life Centre" within a large park area with recreational facilities such as an indoor swimming pool, bowls, football, tennis etc We are also with easy access of the sea and the moors.

"Two Trees" has been extended to come up to and exceed registration standards and offers 28 single rooms with many of these en-suite.  The home positively encourages the continued involvement of family and friends and will help to maintain essential family and community ties.

The aim of "Two Trees" is to offer a wide range of services for adults with learning disabilities they may also have additional physical disabilities.

  • With residents in mind; as members of the family, safe and cared for but not stifled
  • To ensure that areas of concern are taken very seriously by everyone and not ignored by management
  • To encourage laughter & happiness
  • To strive for improvement all the time
  • To provide amazing activities
  • To provide the best care at end of life
  • To prepare homely food every day
  • To value all people
  • Built on the ethos that if it’s not good enough for you, it is not good enough for the residents of Two Trees
